FMC Canada Launches Avireo™ Herbicide plus Six Additional Innovations to Support Western Canadian Farmers
CALGARY, Alberta, Jan. 07, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- FMC Canada is introducing seven new crop protection solutions in 2026 as part of its most significant portfolio refresh to date. The new solutions include five powerful herbicides, an advanced-formulation fungicide seed treatment and a next-generation inoculant for soybeans.
Leading the launch is Avireo™ herbicide, a pre-seed/pre-emergent herbicide that combines Group 27 and Group 14 actives. It’s the first product of its kind in Western Canada, delivering fast, reliable burnoff and sets a new benchmark for broad-spectrum control of tough annual broadleaf weeds, including Group 2, 4 and 9 herbicide-resistant kochia, Group 2 and 4 herbicide-resistant cleavers, volunteer canola and more.
Also launching in 2026 are:
- Avoda® PRO seed treatment – A fungicide seed treatment featuring three powerful active ingredients in an advanced formulation to help protect cereal crops against tough seed- and soil-borne diseases.
- Focus® NXT herbicide – A pre-seed herbicide delivering powerful burnoff and extended residual control, designed to support spring wheat growers in the black soil zone.
- Express® FT herbicide – A burnoff herbicide offering fast-acting weed control with two modes of action to support enhanced resistance management.
- PrecisionPac® CF-18-878 PRO herbicide – A custom-blended herbicide providing extended control of more than 50 broadleaf weed species pre-seed to cereals.
- Barricade® III herbicide – A post-emergence herbicide with a higher rate of fluroxypyr to deliver consistent performance and enhanced control of kochia and other tough broadleaf weeds.
- Optimize® FXC DS – A next-generation soybean inoculant featuring dual-strain Bradyrhizobium and LCO Promoter Technology™ to help support early nodulation and crop establishment.
